WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
Throughout this valuable experience, participants will gain insight on MMI's commissioning programs including the Service Academy Program (SAP), Army Early Commissioning Program (ECP), and the Air Force ROTC.
While visiting MMI, you will also attend class and general information sessions with an MMI cadet. These sessions will cover Financial Aid, MMI Scholarships, Academic Support Programs and ROTC programs. Parents are welcome to attend the morning informational sessions.
As part of the Tiger Orientation Program, you will participate in an application workshop presented by the Admissions Office. Prospective cadets will meet with an Admissions Counselor who will answer enrollment questions. Upon completion of the workshop you can submit the application to MMI for final review.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
This 20 hour experience is designed specifically for qualified high school juniors and seniors. Seniors registering for the Tiger Orientation Program (TOP) must meet one of the following criteria:
* Have earned a GPA of 2.0 or higher
* Scored a minimum 920 on the SAT (combination of critical reading/math components), or at least 19 on ACT
* Seniors who have not taken the SAT or ACT may attend TOP if they are in the top half of their class. Juniors may attend
if they are in the top 50% of the class, and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR VISIT
Scheduled your visit at least 10 days in advance. To research potential scholarships and FINAID, it is recommended that prospective cadets visit the Student Financial Aid Office which is located in the MMI Headquarters Building. Prospective cadets will also want to visit the MMI Book Store to purchase gift items.
WHAT TO BRING
Please bring your confirmation packet and the following items:
* High School transcript (official or unofficial), and a list of any college courses completed and/or in progress.
* A resume, and list of activities and accomplishments.
* Bring a $10 registration fee to cover meals. You may want to also bring extra spending cash for incidentals including MMI merchandise.
* Notebook, pens, calendar, sleeping bag, pillow, towel, change of clothes (casual) and toiletries.
ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS
Please check in at the MMI Admissions Office between 3:00-5:00p.m. on your scheduled date of arrival. An Admissions Counselor will brief you on the schedule of events and set you up with a cadet "shadow" for the next 20 hours. If you are running late call the Admissions office at 1-800-MMI-1842. Students arriving after 6:00 p.m. may miss some evening activities including cadet formation and possible dinner with the corps. In the event that you have to cancel your visit, please notify the Admissions Office in advance and schedule another date.
