WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

Throughout this valuable experience, participants will gain insight on MMI's commissioning programs including the Service Academy Program (SAP), Army Early Commissioning Program (ECP), and the Air Force ROTC.

While visiting MMI, you will also attend class and general information sessions with an MMI cadet.  These sessions will cover Financial Aid, MMI Scholarships, Academic Support Programs and ROTC programs.  Parents are welcome to attend the morning informational sessions. 

As part of the Tiger Orientation Program, you will participate in an application workshop presented by the Admissions Office.  Prospective cadets will meet with an Admissions Counselor who will answer enrollment questions.  Upon completion of the workshop you can submit the application to MMI for final review.   

WHO CAN ATTEND?

This 20 hour experience is designed specifically for qualified high school juniors and seniors.  Seniors registering for the Tiger Orientation Program (TOP) must meet one of the following criteria:

     *  Have earned a GPA of 2.0 or higher
     *  Scored a minimum 920 on the SAT (combination of critical reading/math components), or at least 19 on ACT
     *  Seniors who have not taken the SAT or ACT may attend TOP if they are in the top half of their class.  Juniors may attend
         if they are in the top 50% of the class, and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR VISIT

MMI staff requests that your visit is scheduled at least 10 days in advance of your intended arrival.  It is recommended that prospective cadet visit the Student Financial Aid Office, located in the MMI Headquarters Building, to research potential scholarships (no appointment is necessary).  Prospective cadets will also want to visit special campus facilities such as the Student Recreation Center and Excess House.

WHAT TO BRING

Please bring your confirmation packet and the following items:

*  High School transcript, official or unofficial, and a list of courses completed and/or in progress.
*  A resume, and list of activities and accomplishments.
*  Bring a $50 registration fee to cover the $40 application fee and meals.  You may want to also bring extra spending cash for incidentals    including MMI merchandise.
*  Notebook, pens, calendar, sleeping bag, pillow, towel, change of clothes (casual) and toiletries.

ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS

Please check in at the MMI Guard House (located next to the Commandant's Office on Wilkerson Drive) between 3:00-5:00p.m. on your scheduled date of arrival (Monday or Thursday).  Your cadet host will meet you at the Guard House.  If you are running late call the Admissions office at 1-800-MMI-1842.  Students arriving after 5:30 p.m. may miss some evening activities including cadet formation and possible dinner with the corps.  The phone number is (800) 203-0086.  In the event that you have to cancel your visit, please notify the Admissions Office in advance and schedule another date.

 



 

The Tiger Orientation Program (TOP) offers an excellent opportunity for prospective cadets to visit MMI and tour the campus.  The program includes an overnight stay in cadet barracks and meals with the corps of cadets.  Accompanied by an MMI cadet, the guest will also participate in drill formations and observe a very busy campus life.
