7th Vaiden Fly-In draws experimental aircraft, local families

The 7th Annual Vaiden Fly-In, co-hosted by the MMI Flying Tigers, was a hub of activity on the beautiful afternoon of Saturday, April 11. This year's event, and sunny skies, drew pilots from the Shelby County and general aviation airport communities throughout the state. According to organizer COL Bill Hansen, USMC (Ret), an estimated 75 or more airplanes came and went during the event at local Vaiden Field, A08. Experimental aircraft were well-represented this year.

Cadets in the MMI Flying Tigers club were tasked with marshalling airplanes and crowd control as aircraft taxied to spots on-site. All ages of spectators showed up to view the planes, and families enjoyed BBQ and catfish from local cooks Keith Roye and Grey Henry.
