Honor Guard

“We Will Remember”

The Marion Military Institute (MMI) Honor Guard is an organization dedicated to the display and upkeep of the Colors.  The function of the Honor Guard is to ensure that the National Flag is raised and lowered every day.  Color Guard is also a detachment of the Honor Guard, and they are tasked to perform Chapel Detail when required and support for parades and pass in review ceremonies. The Color Guard also performs Color posting duties for special off-campus occasions such as the opening of state legislative sessions, Alabama Community College special events, and other special events as requested by outside agencies.

Donated resources will go toward supporting the Honor Guard’s most immediate needs that include maintenance, upkeep, and replacement of equipment, along with event and travel expenses. Honor Guard participation in off-campus special events provides a showcase opportunity for MMI, however, budgetary limitations preclude them from participating in as many special events as are often requested.
