MMI Adds New Biology, History and Math Instructors

Marion Military Institute (MMI) will welcome three full-time faculty members for the Fall 2014 semester:

New biology instructor Joy Knickman Roche comes to MMI from the Jefferson State Community College Shelby Campus, where she was also a biology instructor. Her academic experience also includes working at the University of Alabama at Birmingham as a laboratory manager, research associate and tissue coordinator. Roche received both her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science from Towson University.

Mississippi native Dr. Rankin Sherling will join the MMI faculty as a history professor. He most recently served as a visitor researcher for the Study of Southern Culture at the University of Mississippi, where he was also an Athletic Department academic tutor and research consultant. Dr. Sherling received his undergraduate and graduate educations from the University of Mississippi and his Ph.D. from the Queen's University in Canada.

New math instructor Richard "Todd" Gatlin comes to MMI from U.S. Coast Guard International Affairs in Washington, D.C., where he served as Deputy Director. Gatlin completed his undergraduate career in Mathematics at Troy (State) University and received his Masters from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.
