Verification Information

What Does it Mean to be Selected for Verification?

The Department of Education randomly selects FAFSA’s for a process called verification. Verification requires all institutions to request additional documentation to verify all information entered on the FAFSA. Documents that may be requested include: Tax Transcripts for parent and student, untaxed income documentation, child support, or enrollment information. Please do not be alarmed if your FAFSA is selected for verification it is an easy process and our financial aid office will guide you through it one step at a time.

If selected we will contact by email, mail, and phone if need be, so please update all contact information if it changes. Documentation may be returned to the financial aid office by email, mail, or fax. Please turn in all documents as soon as possible to avoid any delay in the awarding process. No need based federal aid may be awarded until the verification process is complete.

Please turn in all documents together: Verification worksheet, Tax Transcripts or use the IRS Data Retrieval tool on the FAFSA, and Untaxed Income. The IRS Data Retrieval tool is a new option on the FAFSA that allows students and parents to transfer all tax information directly from the IRS website, in using this tool it eliminates the need to request a tax transcript. Download one of the forms below:

Once all forms are received we will contact you if any changes or updates need to be made to the FAFSA. Should you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact the Financial Aid Office.
