Admissions Office welcomes Mr. Franklin Outlaw as newest Counselor

On January 5, the MMI Admissions Office was pleased to add a new Counselor to its team: Mr. G. Franklin Outlaw, Jr., who brings experience in education and a military background to the position.

Holding a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Tennessee, Mr. Outlaw first came to Alabama through Teach for America. As a high school science teacher, he taught a wide range of subjects to students in nearby Greensboro, AL. From 2002-2010, he was as a member of the U.S. Army National Guard Reserve, where he served as a transportation and logistics specialist.

He writes: "I am thankful for the opportunity to work at Marion Military Institute, am excited to be a part of the wonderful and talented Admissions Team, and cannot wait to hit the ground running for our country's best and brightest future leaders. My personal mantra can best be summarized by the Great Bear Bryant, 'You must learn how to hold a team together. You must lift some men up, calm others down, until finally they’ve got one heartbeat. Then you’ve got yourself a team,'"
