Cadets Take on Heavy Ruck at Bataan Memorial Death March

On March 20, the MMI Ranger Challenge Team attended the Bataan Memorial Death March at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico where they marched 26.2 miles through sandy, mountainous terrain in honor of the Bataan Death March. The Cadet individual rucksacks averaged over 50lbs each at the end of the march and finished in just over eight hours.

Effects: The cadets and cadre had a great time at the march. They learned about the history of the Bataan Death March and took the opportunity to honor the few remaining survivors. The cadets and cadre alike have a new-found respect for the endeavors and tribulations of the survivors and victims. In turn, the trip prepared the cadets for future hardships as leaders in the U.S. Army.
