Fox News profiles BG Bahnsen, MMI class of 1952

Filmed on the MMI and West Point campuses this Spring, a May 27 Fox News Channel report by Jonathan Serrie featured alumnus Brigadier General "Doc" Bahnsen '52, one of the Vietnam War's most highly decorated officers. Captured in the piece, which aired Friday morning, are MMI cadets marching during Lunch Roll Call and the presentation of BG Bahnsen's Future American Warrior pistol in the MMI Chapel. His interview was taped in the MMI Board Room and highlights the ways BG Bahnsen (now 81) continues to inspire future military leaders to fight "at the tip of the spear" half a century after his time in combat. In 2016, BG Bahnsen was selected as a West Point Distinguished Graduate and Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame inductee. He is the author of American Warrior, A Combat Memoir of Vietnam. BG Bahnsen on leading troops into battle: "You have to have the courage to do what has to be done. You have to set the example on a daily basis and take the action necessary to kill the enemy."
