Knight Fox attracts 100+ high school students

MMI hosts Knight Fox event for prospective cadets

On Friday, Feb. 27, Marion Military Institute hosted more than 100 prospective cadets and their families on its junior college campus during its Knight Fox recruiting event. Starting with “Meet the Corps,” held that morning in the Ireland Center, high school students were introduced to activities and clubs that might interest them. Campus tours followed a welcome by Col. David Mollahan, USMC (Ret), President and Mrs. Brittany Crawford, Director of Admissions. Several faculty members opened their classes to visiting students, while parents attended a financial aid/scholarship session.

MMI’s Dining Hall was full with Knight-Fox families, who convened on the quad after lunch to watch the noon pass in review by the Corps of Cadets featuring the White Knights precision drill team. Hands-on activities such as an interactive Army STEM trailer, rappelling and one-rope bridge filled the afternoon. The traditional lowering of the colors signaled the end of the event, and students traveling from nearby Dallas County and as far away as Virginia headed home.
