Robert J. Howard ’70 Announced as Alumnus of the Year

Robert J. Howard, DMD

as the 2014 Alumnus of the Year

Robert J. Howard, DMD practiced dentistry for 37 years in Troy, Alabama, focusing on comprehensive restorative and cosmetic dentistry. For the past 12 years, he has expanded his intere4st to include Invisalign Orthodontics and in 2011 was one of 4 national finalists in the Invisalign Case Shootout in Las Vega. This year he served as one of the national judges for that competition.

Dr. Howard entered Marion Military Institute in 1967 and graduated in the 1970 high school class. While at Marion, he served as the band lieutenant as well as the acting band director during his senior year. In 1973, Dr. Howard earned his B.S. from the University of Alabama and in 1977 graduated with a DMD degree from the UAB Dental School in Birmingham.

Dr. Howard has sent two sons to MMI and is a past president of the MMI Alumni Brigade. He will be honored on Saturday, April 12, 2014 during the traditional pass in review.
