2nd Annual ACCS Day

On April 5,  more than 2,000 students, faculty and staff (including select MMI cadets) traveled to Montgomery for the Alabama Community College System Day Celebration. Held on the lawn of the Alabama State Archives & History building, the gathering provided visibility for our two-year system while Alabama legislators were back in session.

MMI's honor guard posted the colors at the morning's opening ceremony and later to open sessions of the Alabama House of Representatives and Senate that afternoon. Cadets also had the opportunity to tour the statehouse, meet legislators, and watch the legislative sessions at work from the gallery seating. Speaker of the House Mike Hubbard took time to personally meet with the MMI group, including Col. David J. Mollahan, USMC (Ret), in the morning.
