Cadets Active in Community Service

Renaissance Marion recently received a grant from Ala-Tom RC&D to improve the Washington Street block between Green and Jackson Street in downtown Marion.  As such, the organization needed manpower for the project. MMI cadets stepped up to the challenge by donating volunteer hours to re-landscape the streets. A special thanks to local resident Dean Tolar for donating his time and resources to make this project possible. The last phase of the project, originally approved by the Marion City Council last sumer, was completed over two work days, Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2.

MMI partnered with the University of Alabama Honors College to complete the project, totaling over 300 man hours dedicated to improving downtown this fall and spring.  Cadet community service fall under MMI's new Center for Leadership & Career Development, headed by COL Tom Tate.
