MMI Foundation Honors Major Gifts with Donor Recognition

The Marion Military Institute (MMI) Foundation honored its most generous donors with a special luncheon, ceremony and parade on Friday, Feb. 24. Invited to this exclusive event were individuals, businesses and organizations inducted into the President’s Circle ($10,000-$499,999) and Order of the Crest ($500,000+) cumulative giving levels, as well as JT Murfee Legacy Society (estate planning) and Foundation Scholarship donors. The day’s focus was to publicly recognize and thank these donors for their contributions over a lifetime. As such, the entire MMI Corps of Cadets, plus faculty and staff, gathered in the historic Chapel to honor these steadfast supporters.
This year, the MMI Foundation had the distinct honor of inducting its first-ever Order of the Crest – 4 Star donor, Mr. James W. Rane, '64 totaling $4 Million, and 5 Star donor, Dr. George Rapier III ‘69, totaling $5 Million.
Each and every one of these donors have made a tremendous impact on the MMI Corps of Cadets—past, present and future. Because of their major gifts, MMI can continue to enhance the college curriculum, upgrade technology and renovate campus facilities to advance its whole-person education mission.
