Basketball finishes year at 11-1
The MMI men's basketball team finished their first semester schedule with one of the program's best starts. After defeating the Alabama Prep Sports Academy last night 76-55, the Tigers improved to 11-1 on the season.
Quamauri Hardy led MMI for the second straight game with 20 points on 9-for-12 shooting from the floor, and 2-for-2 from the charity stripe. He also grabbed six rebounds. Mikel Davis added 14 points and eight rebounds. Carlos Bell added another double-double to his resume; 13 points and 11 rebounds.
DeShawn Roumou finished with eight points. Treyvon Francis added seven points with three assists and five steals.
Charles Tripp had eight rebounds with six points while teammate Michael Nobles finished with six rebounds and four points. Antony Edwards and Justin Longstreetrounded out the scoring for Marion with two points apiece. Edwards also had eight rebounds and three assists.
The Tigers will open up ACCC North play on January 12 when they travel to Wadley, Alabama to take on Southern Union State Community College. Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
